In February 2015, Transform Education Kentucky hosted its inaugural Innovate:Education, an education summit bringing together leaders from business and education to work on issues of innovation in public education. The annual event hosts over 200 people each year, and includes vibrant discussions, workshops, and keynote speakers.
The 3rd Innovate:Education Summit is scheduled for 8:30AM – 1:30PM on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Louisville Marriott Downtown. We hope you can join us for a morning of enlightening and inspiring discussions with business leaders and educators who’ve recently worked together to transform education in their communities. The event will culminate in the presentation of the 1st Annual Kentucky Education Innovator Awards. We will present a special Lifetime Achievement Award to John Hall (former CEO of Ashland Oil), David Jones, Sr. (founder of Humana), and Oz Nelson (former CEO of UPS) for their efforts to pass the Kentucky Education Reform Act of 1990, as well as their continuing efforts to support education in Kentucky.
Morning session speakers include:
- Monica Bilak, Design Thinking Consultant
- Nick Brake, Superintendent of Owensboro Independent Schools
- Trey Grayson, former CEO of Northern KY Chamber of Commerce
- Brandi Harless, Mayor of Paducah
We’ll also be showcasing innovations that have been developed by educators across the Commonwealth. We look forward to seeing you there.
